Nike wanted us to create an overarching concept for the Nike Air line, establishing JD as the undisputed destination for Air. An air bubble is soft, fragile, and light.
But air is also power and energy. The exploding bubble within manga and anime culture is universally recognized and the target audience knows it by heart. We used the exploding air bubble to give Nike Air that extra push, extra energy and extra leverage.
