Betser: betting with humor
Betser launched its sports book and casino in 2016, and came to River looking for a communication concept that could be used across all markets and channels, positioning them as a sports savvy and entertaining sports betting brand with a sense of humour. Based on this concept, River was also asked to create TVCs and radio spots for the Swedish and Finnish markets.
THE CAT (2018)
Since Betser’s mission is to add excitement to the lives of sports lovers and make their game experience better, the concept was all about calling out the things that don’t, whether it was bribed referees, diving, boring games or annoying friends.
River created a series of three TVCs on the theme “things you just don’t do on game night”, joking about behaviours that should be banned from the TV-room while the game is on. In addition, three radio spots were made, following two commentators that were commentating on games where the excitement level was laughably low.
